Fire Warden Training - E-Learning Course & Certificate
Description
Description
Overall fire safety is the responsibility of employers or owners of organisations, as outlined in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. However, the Order enables employers to appoint a competent, named person to assist in the effective implementation of fire safety procedures. In many organisations, these named individuals are designated Fire Wardens.
The Fire Wardens e-Learning course explores the role that a Fire Warden must take within an organisation, from basic fire prevention to what to do in an event of a fire. The course explains the fire triangle, exploring the three different elements that are necessary for fire to start – heat, fuel and oxygen. It also highlights the different ways a fire can spread, through convection, conduction and radiation.
The course focuses on the duties and responsibilities that Fire Wardens will have, including the requirement to carry out effective fire risk assessments. It explains the key elements that should be included in a fire risk assessment: identifying fire hazards and potential risks; recognising possible sources of ignition and fuel; knowing which people are most at risk; ensuring that appropriate fire warning and detection systems are in working order; understanding evacuation routes and other means of escape; and becoming familiar with fire-fighting equipment.
The online course also explains the role of an Incident Control Officer and their responsibility to take control in an emergency situation, with Fire Wardens and, if needed, trained first aiders, assisting as required.
As with all our courses, the Fire Wardens e-Learning course can be customised to meet your needs, enabling your workforce to understand the specific policies and procedures you have developed for your organisation, including fire evacuation policies. A designated course administrator can edit the text and images within the course, and link to organisation-specific documentation, all at no extra cost.
